Stainless Steel Brake Caliper Bolts for Post-2018 Brompton
This is a high quality replacement bolt sets for the genuine Brompton brake calipers. All parts in this set, including the springs, are made from stainless steel. The critical center and side pivot bolts are made from special 630 stainless steel. This material is as strong or stronger than the Grade 5 (Ti 6AL 4V) titanium and the original carbon steel, yet it has excellent corrosion resistance.
Our goals in creating this bolt set are: Strength/Durability, Corrosion Resistance, and Lower Cost (than titanium). We feel the weight savings from using lighter material is not worth the troubles and risks on critical component such as the brakes.
The Brompton brake calipers equipped with these bolts have passed the brake durability test in accordance to the DIN 79100:2000 Bicycle Safety Requirements and Test Methods.
Replacing the bolts on Brompton brake calipers is not difficult, and instruction video will be made available.
The kits are available in two colors: Silver (natural color of the material), and Black.

Please note that you do need to continue using the original plastic washers and sleeves, as they don’t corrode and don’t need to be replaced. For the brake shoes, you will need to continue using the aluminum concave washers, which rarely corrode.
The springs in this kit are also made from stainless steel, in correct spring rate. Hand feel and performance is not distinguishable from the original equipment. These springs are also available separately.
