7075 Replacement P/T Line Front Hub Axle and End Caps
The factory P/T line front hub end caps are known to break, possibly from impacts, as well as from over-torqueing.
Two 5mm hex wrenches are used to remove the hub end caps, one on each end. One the factory hub, when the first end cap is loosened, there is no easy way to remove the second end cap, as there are no wrench sockets on the axle itself. This issue is corrected on the replacement axle. Our axle has 5mm hex sockets on both ends, as well as on the end caps.
These axle and end caps are CNC machined from 7075 aluminum alloy, and will perfactly match the of P/T line front hubs.
The hub axle/ end caps can be purchased together with replacement bearings. Currently have two bearings. 1. TPI steel bearings. 2. CEMA hybrid ceramic bearings. In both cases, the bearing size is 6800.
TPI is a well known and quality bearing maker based in Taiwan. Their bearings are also used in some international hub brands as original equipment. We also use their bearings in our custom freehub bodies.
CEMA is a ceramic bearing maker also based in Taiwan. In the case, we are offering hybrid ceramic bearings (silicon nitride balls and steel races.
