The buyer can purchase the hub with Hubsmith 3/4 speed optional driver pre-installed without additional cost. The 3/4 speed version, as the name suggests, can accommodate 3 sprockets** (or 4 sprockets without factory dust cover), and accommodate sprocket size down to 11T, or 10T with an adapter. The 3/4 speed versions also make use of the threaded lock rings that are available separately, instead of the cir-clip used on the standard 2 speed hub.
Please also note that in order to convert a derailleur 2 speed Brompton into 3 speed, in additional to the hub driver/free hub body, the sprockets and shifter must be also modified.
**While sprockets and spacers of various thickness can be fitted, they must work with the chain pusher and shifter of your choice. Should you have questions, please feel free to contact us.

Hubsmith is a renowned hub maker specialized in high end and lightweight hubs. The R015R rear hub is specifically designed as the replacement for Brompton single or 2- speed hubs. There are no modifications to the frame required.
The R015R driver has 3 pawls and 48 points of engagement (POE) for instantenous power transfer. In comparisoin, the factory 1/2 speed hub has 16 POE. Also, thanks to the stiffer pawl springs, the noise when freewheeling is much louder than stock. It will get you some attention.
The hub has similar dimensions as Brompton's OE 1/2 speed hub, i.e., widely spaced flanges, and big bearings. It will be similar to the factory counterpart in terms of durability, but nearly 100g lighter.
